Scott Mershon is an advocate for smart water policy and conservation. His background in civil and environmental engineering gives him a deep understanding of the water-related challenges facing Cache Valley. Through his professional experience in water resources and agricultural engineering, he has gained firsthand knowledge of local water projects and the relationships needed to help address the region’s water needs.
Scott brings more than professional expertise to the table. As a father and outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys hiking and biking with his wife and daughter. When he is not working or spending time with family, he can often be found backcountry skiing, whitewater kayaking, or rock climbing. He is grateful to live in a place so rich in natural beauty and full of recreational opportunities.
Additionally, Scott gives back to the community through a number of organizations. He currently serves on the Logan City Parks and Recreation Board, and has previously served with the W.A.B Warming Center, Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, and AmeriCorps.
This combination of professional knowledge, community involvement, and outdoor experience gives Scott a well-rounded perspective on water management. As a Water District Board Member, he will advocate for responsible water stewardship, healthy rivers, thriving wildlife, sustainable agriculture, and recreational opportunities. Cache Valley is a wonderful place to live, and Scott is committed to helping preserve and improve it for future generations.
